GameXplain has uploaded some footage of a Pokkén Tournament battle between Pikachu Libre and Garchomp.
The clip shows off features such as the ability to bring in support Pokémon and also the the use of the Synergy Gauge. It also gives us a glimpse of the winning screens, along with grades given and the skill level up system. Take a look below:

I want to say garchomp will be my play style but lucario looks badass as ever. HMmm also I might consider weavile, suicune, and basic mewtwo. Idk. Can’t really tell from watching others play. I’m a hands on learner so yeah.
From what I’ve been reading I feel like Lucario will be like the Ryu of this game, in other words he sounds the most balanced

Or at least an option to switch it to the Japanese announcer, it’s a lot less annoying for some reason
Is this game gonna be well balanced? I don’t want to see overpowered fighter or attacks. Each gotta have strengths and weaknesses.
Pikachu doesn’t feel balanced to me, neither does Gardevoir. But maybe the really hard hitting energy types have less defense or something to counter their offensive power.

I believe you can choose them in pairs. Frogadier is paired with Eevee I believe, and I think Eevee provides some health regen. I think you can also only use one support pokemon per round and you get to choose which support character of the pair before each round.
~*So I can’t actually choose the two members of the pair & am forced to use a preset pair? Nooooo! I don’t want Eevee paired with Frogadier! Ew, ew, ew!*~
LOL this is just an educated guess I made btw from watching some japanese videos on youtube, so I could be wrong. I also plan to use Eevee and don’t have much interest in froggy, so I would probably just use Eevee exclusively and let froggy sit on the bench the entire time lolololol
