Nintendo Land Coming To Universal Japan’s Park Costing Around $350 million

We now have concrete details regarding the Nintendo Land attraction which will be headed to Universal Japan’s theme park. The deal was finally finalised on Friday and will cost around $350 million and is set to focus on Mario. Japanese publication Sankei News says that it’s roughly the same size investment that Universal Studios previously made in the Harry Potter franchise with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter area. You can see from the map below just how much space the Nintendo Land attractions will take up with the red spot being Nintendo Land and the green being the current Universal Studios Japan attractions.

If you’re interested, and I’m sure you are, then here’s what we can expect from Nintendo Land “The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games,” an official release stated last year. It added that Universal theme parks will create “spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo’s wildly popular games, characters and worlds.” The team is busy hoping that they will have the attractions complete by 2020 which is when the Olympics will be held in Tokyo.

  1. Dayum!! Sucks to not have a Universal park ik Europe… All we have is a shitty version of Disneyland where half of the rides are closed at the moment…

  3. I swear, every time something really AWESOME happens that’s based on Nintendo, it’s always somewhere far, far away. From this, Nintendo World, and even basic comic cons etc., they’re ALWAYS too far away for me to ever see them. I doubt I’ll ever get the chance for any of these things as long as I live. Only reason I ever saw Disneyland is because I used to live in California. Haven’t even been THERE since 1998. Probably never will again.

      1. Or set up a traveling fund where you save a little bit of your money for the sole purpose of traveling when an event you want to go to occurs.

  4. To put that budget in perspective I’ve read tumors that Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley cost $175 million and $245 million in Orlando respectively.
