Miitomo launched in Japan on Wednesday and so far at least it’s been a success. The smartphone messaging and social application made its debut at number two on the Japanese App Store beaten only by Puzzle & Dragons Radar. Nintendo Europe has reassured Nintendo fans that the application is still on track to be released here in the west towards the end of the month.
Miitomo Debuts At Number 2 On Japanese App Store

Yep. Filthy casuals always getting suckered in by pure cash grabs. Suckers.
Cash grab? Haven’t spent a single dime on the game myself, and I’m not planning to. There’s no need to use real money, you know.
If there is microtransactions in the game that lets people take shortcuts, it’s still a cash grab. For those of us that play games hours on end, there is no reason to use real money, true. But most people that get it will be casuals & they don’t have the patience to build up their in-game currency the free way, so they will pay for the microtransactions for shortcuts. Hence the “game” is still a cash grab.
Miitomo isn’t even a game, it’s a social app. You can use money to get other costumes, that’s it.
Game, app, whatever. Microtransactions=cash grab. Quadraxis, shadowvegeta, and Anubis apparently agree with me.
Let’s agree to disagree, then.
Did you know Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has microtransactions in it? Some of the people here will be so quick to call that a cash grab even though there is no reason to use them in Syndicate, so why should Nintendo & their Miitomo game be the exception?
Double standards seem to run rampant among some of Nintendo’s faithful. Like this annoying little one right here: “It’s okay to make someone bigger in Smash like Captain Olimar but it’s wrong to make Ridley smaller! You can’t do that! It’d look weird! Sakurai said so!” That brings up another double standard. Even though Sakurai has lied before why a character can’t be playable in Smash (Villager, Miis), when they are finally made playable, people defend him with the damage control “But he’s free to change his mind!” But the moment someone brings up him changing his mind about Ridley in a future Smash, “oh no! He’s never lied before! He won’t change his mind because it’s a fact Ridley is too big!” *shrug* Smash 5 is a long ways off, though, so enough about that. *sits back & waits to see who all gets pissed off about these three comments for either talking bad about Nintendo or talking bad about Sakurai* Am I trolling? A little. >.< But I still mean everything I've said.
First of all, no, I had no idea, I stopped playing Assassin’s Creed at Black Flag.
Second of all, Miitomo is a free-to-play game, of course there’s going to be microtransactions in it. Developers don’t work for free. But if you pay for a game, only for it to demand you to pay more? That’s what I would call a cash crab. No idea how it works in AC Syndicate, just talking about games in general.
Well that was kinda quick
absolute garbage and i may get a normal 3ds xl instead of the new 3ds xl i am watching many on ebay but the one with a 64 gig memory card definitely stand out
dude get the *new* 3ds xl, it’s a lot better trust me
Nah i want a 3ds xl now and with the funds i currently have it is not out of the budget but i want money leftover to possibly get more games and if i decide later to get a new one then i will and i ordered project x zone 2 and im deciding whether to get the digimon game on the vita it will be the australian version which is a physical copy and it will have english subtitles and it is 54 dollars so im thinking about it
and a 32gig is quite sufficient imo, the 3DS is honestly outdated in comparison to the *new* 3DS, it runs so much better and the 3D actually makes the games look really nice, spend the little bit of extra money to get the better product, it’s worth it in the long run
I know but nope
you’ll live to regret it. also, xeno on 3DS is awesome and it’s really fun to play on the go, and you can only get that if you have the *new* 3DS
I don’t play games on the go only at home and I’m trying to get the most with the funds I have now with other things I want so nope no new 3ds xl maybe later
which 3DS games are you interested in btw?
Mainly the rugs but I’m sure there are other games I like
Rpgs not rugs lol
lol
I now currently have 250 hours put into x and still have much more to do so I estimate 500 or more hours
Miitomo is a free app so it didn’t bring any money so far… Am I mistaken ????
You’re not. I haven’t seen any microtransactions or adds so far.
You won’t see adds in a Nintendo game. Trust me. The microtransactions are so minimal you’ll hardly ever see them in this title. The only time the oportunity to pay cash comes up is if you try to buy clothing or Miidrop plays when you don’t have enough coins.
Oh, that’s why I didn’t see anything. I just got enough for two pieces of clothing, so I didn’t try to buy anything else. That’s pretty good, since it looks like in-game currency is abundant and easy to earn.
Funnily enough, there’s something akin to petting in Miitomo.
did you ever play tomodochi life? i think I remember something like that in it too lol
I didn’t, but I recently pirated my 3DS, so it won’t be long. Still, it made me laugh that there’s a similar option.
tomodochi life such a weird, bizarre, and funny game. i think it’s worth checking out for sure, it only really held my interest for like a month though
I’ll give it a try for sure, it’s just not very high on my 3DS backlog.

I’ve only been playing the game for two days now, but it’s surprisingly enjoyable. Let’s just hope it stays that way! I can see the game becoming even better if they keep supporting it with updates post-launch.
