This week’s Japanese video game hardware and software charts are now in courtesy of sales tracking firm Media Create. It was Dragon Quest Monster: Joker 3 which topped the charts on the Nintendo 3DS providing the handheld with a nice boost in sales. Talking about sales it seems as though the Wii U is once again struggling as it only sold 4K units, possibly the negative ramifications of the Nikkei post saying that Nintendo is stopping production of the console this year might have something to do with it. Anyway, here’s the best-selling software and hardware this week!

-||Like I said, the sales had nothing to do with the shortages||-
You don’t know that for a fact. The shortages were real. As there were pictures of it and reports from retailers. I have not seen anything about shortages lately so this is a non shortage week. Wii U sales are lower than last year and that is a fact. The sales from the week we are on currently will have some sort of holiday that started or was on this monday. All sales should go up a little.
-||If all sales go up a little during some holiday or when a big game gets released like Pokken Tournament did, then why are the Wii U sales 4k overall almost every week since like 2 months soon?||-
-||There should have been more sales overall if people still were as interested in the Wii U regardless of shortages throughout our Homeworld||-
I’m speaking of this week not the media create week in the article. Wii u was 12k last week. Pokken had a bundle in japan but didn’t increase hardware sales. Like I said before their was a shortage and that is fact. Just because there was a shortage doesn’t mean there was a high demand.
Correction, pokken did increase wii u sales last week. If there wasn’t a shortage, statistically the wii u had a chance at 6K instead of 4K based on last year sales. Shortages would stop that from happening and I have never said and will say that sales would have been great if there were no shortages.
inb4 “b-b-b-b-b-but it’s a shoooooortage”
Oh how will they explain this at the investors meeting.
All investors care about is are their profits and what are your plans for future profits.
*there
*their
Thanks. I’m so sleepy I’m making mistakes on my corrections.
I feel like this could have gone either way.
All investors care about is: “are there profits!?!?! we need to see profits!!!”
or
All investors care about is are their profits. “where are my profits!?!?! you better show me my profits nintendo!!!!”
either way, investors kind of seem like jerks.
Yeah, money makes a lot of people jerks.
Fucking nikkei
Xbox One sale are hilarious.
Captain Obvious, on a recorded loop since the Xbone was released in Japan.
-yawn-
Nintendo stupid. They had this problem for 2 months and and unlike Sony who actually does something, Nintendo just sits there not doing nothing about boosting Wii U sales. That’s stupid.
They can only manufacture so many of them but hard to say if it would have helped much if the had plenty on shelf unless they could sell more than last year’s 6K average per week.
That sucks. I would had thought Nintendo was experienced enough to know how to met demand.
Nintendo doesn’t do the manufacturing. A company they hire does it. No experience in the world can help in meeting demand. It is not something that can be known ahead of time.
So why the PS4 don’t have this problem?
hard to say. it is not as simple as one company can do it why not the other company.
