New Splatoon Gear Coming With CoroCoro Partnership

After nearly a year on the market, Nintendo is keeping Splatoon fresh. In partnership with Japanese publication, CoroCoro, the Big N will be bringing new gear to the splatastic shooter, including a hat, jacket, and new weapon. This information comes from the latest in customary leaks of the magazine’s upcoming issues–one that it seems Nintendo was ready for. In an attempt to lean into the punch of the leak, official artwork for the gear was released via Splatoon’s official Twitter. You can find an image and detailed list of the inkredible new gear down below.

  1. New stuff is always nice, but this isn’t enough to get me back in. My excitement level kind of bottomed out as of late; didn’t even jump in to the last 2 Splatfests. Just not feelin the freshness lately. Shrug.

  2. I love Splatoon but I think I’m waiting for a sequel before jumping back in. At this point in the game winning or losing largely depends on your team and how well they’re coordinated, which while it may sound obvious, sucks because even if you play like an MVP if your team is weak and the other team works together you’ll probably lose. Its hard not having voice chat or any sort of way to help less experienced players understand where they need to be…

    1. I agree; this game screams IRL clothing. I do think, though, that if they do, it’ll more than likely be a Japan-only thing (like those Splatoon watches that they made earlier this year).

  3. I really don’t get it. They say “we are done with content besides Splatfest” and then the make new clothes and a new weapon. Just admit it Nintendo, are you done with Splatoon content or not?

    1. They later said that they may come back and add more content after people asked for more. I can’t seem to find the article, but if I do find it, I’ll reply with the link (Probably. It depends on if I remember to do it).
