An Amazon Listing For A Paper Mario: Color Splash Standard Edition Has Appeared

A listing for a standard edition of Paper Mario: Color Splash has appeared on Amazon. It suggests that Nintendo may also be planning a special edition of the game on the horizon. There is no confirmation from Nintendo about it at this time, so it’s not official. Despite that, its price is $59.99 and it has a placeholder release date of December 31st.

Paper Mario: Color Splash releases exclusively on the Nintendo Wii U later this year.

  1. I honestly feel like so many people are so worked up over this not being the sequel they want to Thousand Year Door that they forget that this could still become the GOOD Sticker Star that we should have gotten. Granted, I would have preferred a traditional Paper Mario RPG, but I won’t ignore that this game exists just for the sake of pleading for a new original styled Paper Mario game.

Sticker Star was bad in my opinion because of… Just so many basic problems that could have easily been fixed. I feel like Sticker Star was somehow rushed despite being delayed many times, and the beyond basic story and RPG elements reflect that. Color Splash could easily fix my complaints with Sticker Star AND make a worthwhile game if the developers have truly learned their lesson of what they did wrong with Sticker Star. Don’t automatically deny this game’s existence before it’s even been released, reviewed, or shown off beside one small trailer a few months ago.

    1. What is so bad about sticker star exactly? i played through a little bit of it and thought it was alright. So many people seem to hate it though for some reason…

      1. When compared to the other games (I think all the other games are either very good or great), it’s a bit of a letdown. I think the game feels a bit dull sometimes with its level themes and other stuff, and that there’s some cryptic locations of certain stuff in the game as well (the last one is something I hope I’m remembering correctly).

  2. Both Kirby Planet Robobot and Monster Hunter Generations are also listed as “Standard Editions” on Amazon, so I’m not sure it necessarily means a special edition is coming, unless the Kirby one is announced only a couple weeks before release which would be odd. A Monster Hunter special edition of sorts is still sort of hopeful though I’d say.
