US publication GamesBeat has run an extensive interview with David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. During the interview Haddad is asked about the firm’s support of the next consoles from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. He says that they will be supporting all three, so I guess that means we shall certainly get the LEGO titles and hopefully a few other surprises too.
GamesBeat: How do you start making decisions now about which of the new consoles to support? Microsoft’s already announced theirs. Nintendo is coming.
Haddad: We have great relationships with all the console platforms. We believe we play a role in each of them. What I saw with the announcements that were made at the show — I’m fairly bullish about he console cycle, about gamers spending time on them and finding great content, about publishers being able to find returns on increasing investments in that space. We’re constantly deciding how to navigate that, but supporting them is not a question for us.

I’d love another big LCU game exclusive to the NX. I know Dimensions is getting something but I doubt it will be as broad as the original!
Wouldn’t really call having Lego games and nothing else “Support”.
Lego games are great games and are considered as support.
But ONLY Lego games?
Yeah.. that’s barely support if you only get one game series.
They did have batman games and injustice on the system. Support is games made for the system. No support means no games.
Not really.
Lego games are pretty simplistic and don’t really cost WB that much to produce, however, with Batman Arkham series is when they will eventually need more support behind it.
So really, Lego games are just like the shovelware games we used to get on Wii, only this time they’re actually good fun.
Lego games are not shovelware. Lego games has marketing push to them. They are funded the same way a Batman game is funded. Lego games contain a lot of content in them. I don’t know if you have played them but you might want to try them first before they say that.
“Lego games are pretty simplistic and don’t really cost WB that much to produce […]”
What? Do you even know anything about game development? Just because a game *looks* simplistic it doesn’t mean it’s also easy to develop. You can be sure that the game has cost WB multiple million dollars to develop, just like Batman.
ANY game is still support. Even if it’s something that not everybody cares about (like LEGO).
Let’s hope that WB Games Montreal develop a Batman title (new and/or port) for the NX.
But like if Ubisoft only brings Just Dance most people won’t consider that as truly “supporting” NX. That’s just cashing in on the casual market wherever it may be (like how they still make them for the Wii). That said I enjoy Lego games from time to time and bought Lego City on Wii U day 1 but I think most people want the other AAA multiplats from WB on their console of choice; not “just Lego”.
There were other games other than lego games on the wii u. Why would that be different from the NX?
They say things like this then next thing you know…”Bla Bla Not Coming to NX” yeah I don’t trust them…
But they actually released games on the Wii U… Sure, mostly Lego games, but hey. They kept a promise they probably never even really made!
so i guess they headed over to the company and they show him that he will support the NX well i figure there might be lego titles on the NX but sure why not.
Dude I love the Lego games
The new Star Wars game does look kinda fun.
It’ll be interesting to see who really starts pushing game’s for NX. While at the moment I’m not intending to bust ass to get NX, I am super excited for the reveal and following information. Just to read everyone going insane over the outcome.
It’s gonna be juicy fruits.
The same Warner Bros who isn’t releasing Injustice 2 on pc out of spite for pc gamers because of the well deserved backlash Warner Bros received from the pc community because of their decision to release a broken unplayable Arkham Knight game on pc at release while fully aware of the major problems it suffered from ahead of time, and wasn’t sorry about!? Don’t trust this company they will screw nintendo fans over the same way for a quick cash grab! They are just as bad as EA, maybe even worse!
Does anyone know if this means DC content might come to NX, or does Warner leave those IPs to other developers?
WB Games publishes DC games as well. We will have to wait and see what games WB brings to the NX though. Support could mean a number of things.
Ubisoft better bring the Assassin’s Creed series to NX. It’s the only Ubisoft series I love.
Im going to sit back and see if all these developers really going to support NX like they said they would Project Café.
Call me a pessimist, but I believe publishers will be very cautious when it comes to supporting the NX. I believe it will be on Nintendo to steer the ship around first before publishers come on board.
I do expect Arkham Knight, Injustice 2, and the Lego games to arrive on the system, maybe at Launch
I just expect Lego.
