Those of you who are fans of Devil’s Third will be disappointed to find out this morning that the multiplayer servers for the game will be shut down. Nintendo of America has said that the multiplayer servers will close on December 28th. It’s rather sad that it is shutting down so quickly, but I suppose the player-base just wasn’t there.
Thank you for your continued loyalty to Nintendo.
Nintendo will discontinue the online multiplayer service for the Devil’s Third game for the Wii U console on December 28, 2016.
We will also no longer sell Golden Eggs as of June 27, 2016 at 9:00 AM PT.
Finally, the price of the downloadable version of Devil’s Third will be reduced from $59.99 USD to $29.99 USD on Nintendo eShop.
Discontinuation Schedule:
6/23/2016 (Thursday) 9 AM PT – Price reduction for digital version
6/27/2016 (Monday) 9 AM PT – Discontinuation of Golden Eggs sales*
Dec 28/2016 (Wednesday) 8 PM PT – Discontinuation of online multiplayer service**
We are deeply thankful for all the players who have enjoyed Devil’s Third online multiplayer service, and thank you for your understanding regarding this decision.
||Such a waste…||
It’s a real pity. They are just getting ready for Devil’s Third Online which will be their main priority. I’ll be there til the very end.
Wasn’t this game’s main highlight the online mode?
Everything about this game was off. Most reviewers say that the devs did a bad job with it, but what made it even worse was Nintendo’s decision not to market it. They kind of just quietly brought it to market and left it there to die. It seems like Nintendo agreed to publish it, but after seeing how the game turned out, knew it wouldn’t be well received and decided to put the bare minimum amount of effort into it.
This game isn’t even worth $30, they can drop it to $20 and it still wouldn’t be worth it!
you haven’t played it, it’s pretty good
Wow that’s a shame as that was the only thing going for it. I wonder if the PC version is getting the same treatment.
I actually enjoyed my playthrough of the game. It’s certainly not a game for everyone. Didn’t get a chance to try it online because nobody was online when I tried.
What a shame, the only FPS on Wii U with some balls! I bet the online play would have been sick fun, I watched enough of it to see the possible insanity. They should have just built a online/offline team based shooter and scrapped the story. Love a good whacky fps shoot out.
Also, seeing as how the campaign seems to be the biggest let down of the game. I would say drop it down to 9.99 and I’ll maybe pick up a copy, maybe.
This is a shame, but to be honest, the most people I’ve ever met online is 3. Oh well.

Man, $30 should have been the launch price. I’ll consider it at $10
hence why i was never fans of game with online feature cause when the servers is gone you can throw the game away. Game with online capability is a waste (IMO). Imagine a game like Chrono trigger, Final fantasy tactics, Final Fantasy 7 or mario kart having online capability only.
Well, that escalated quickly.
And nothing of value was lost

This flop was still worth 60 bucks and it didn’t get a price drop til now!? It should have been worth 15-20 bucks at the most months ago!
