Pokémon GO: Pokémon Hunter Impaled On Fence

A happy-go-lucky Pokémon collector managed to impale his leg on a fence while hunting for Pokémon in Pokémon GO. The man attempted to climb over the fence to the Olympic Stadium in Sweden when he slipped and impaled his leg on the security fence. Thankfully the emergency services came to his rescue and lifted him off the fence before they rushed him off to hospital.

    1. I heard someone died in Guatemala because he got jumped by a group of people who then stole the guy’s phone and then finally got shot… All because he was playing Pokemon Go.

      1. You mean, all because he certainly lives in a dangerous area. A mobile app isn’t responsible for those accidents, people must watch out for their own safety.

      ||If you have anything just report to me since I’m stationed in Sweden…||

  1. Pokemon Go is just helping out natural selection. If someone is stupid enough to try and jump a fence they’re not supposed to go over, well, this is what happens. Once again, like the game advocates, BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!

    1. That’s right. The game constantly warns you to be aware of your surroundings. You would have to be illiterate to not actually read them.

Whenever I see news like this, I have the sudden urge to say, “Idiots.” But then again, I’m not Flowey.

The maker of the app? Niantic Labs. Never heard of them? That’s because until last year they were an internal start-up of none other than Google, the NSA-linked Big Brother company. Even now Google remains one of Niantic’s major backers. Niantic was founded by John Hanke, who also founded Keyhole, Inc., the mapping company which was created with seed money from In-Q-Tel, the CIA’s venture capital arm, and which was eventually rolled into Google Maps.

So yes, the Pokémon game currently taking the internet by storm (and scooping up all their data, including activities, movements and communications) was created by a CIA-linked businessman who gestated his company at Google.

    Feeling safe yet?

As it turns out, the big, bad Big Brother Spies of the NSA and the DHS and the CIA don’t really need their Patriot Act powers, after all. All the powers-that-shouldn’t-be need to do is create a fun, shiny trinket for the people to play with and they will literally pay for their own surveillance.

Welcome to the “Matrix Economy,” where people pay to spy on themselves…and have fun doing it”

Pokemon Go, no thanks. Don’t want to be CIA/NSA’s puppet, gathering intelligence info for them.

    1. Just by being on this website, on the internet you are open to all those same things. Don’t think for a minute “they” have not had you logged and tracked for years already. This type of paranoia is needless, as it has been and already has been happening for many years. Pokemon Go barely adds to the phenomenon of the internet and cellphones which already do all this stuff, despite what protections people perceive to have. For anyone with eyes has already seen, that this is barely the tip of the iceberg. So with that, I don’t think it really matters if people play the silly game or not in this regard, if and when they want you, they got you

      1. I always thought that was funny. When people complain about security breaching from out governments, so they get online to complain about it. Like that whole XBO launch ordeal. Everyone was up on arms because NSA this, or NSA that, so they got online to complain about it and they were never going to get it becuase MS was working with the NSA and leaking our secrete information. The reality of it is, our goverments can get any information they want directly from our ISP’s. The only way to avoid this is to stay completly off the grid, but we all know anyone from this and last generation COULD NEVER do that.

        1. Absolutely true. The internet is a creation of the military, and military intelligence, and has been since its inception. If they want the info they get it, and even when there is talk of not being able to track certain people or accounts or how people with internet usage that is questionable going and killing people, it is no surprise to the eyes at the top. Just let go, play the games, watch the TV… it is a “Brave New World” after all

    2. While I can somewhat empathize with your anti-established government spying ideals, I’ve come to accept that it’s too late. If you own a smartphone, or have owned a smartphone in the last 5-10 years… Unless you plan on going off the grid, living in a cabin, hunting for your own food (not using a credit card) and never ever surfing the Web, even “incognito”… Then it’s too late. They have you. They know more about you than you do, and there’s not a damn thing any of us can do about it.

Just take solice in that, if the shit hits the fan, we’re all in the same boat, and it will take a while for them to reach you on their list. :D

  3. Off topic, but for Best Buy is having a sale on select Wii u titles. Games like Yoshi Wooly World, Xenoblade, and Star Fox Zero are $30 and $24 for members.

On topic, these stories aren’t surprising. Free advertising for Nintendo too.

just goes to show that idiots will trespass just to get some 1s and 0s on a phone app

And i’m not one to be an asshole but good the less of these idiots the better

  5. The game warns you about being aware of your surroundings, and this obviously includes being aware of where you should not trespass.

I guess you could say that this guy…*puts on sunglasses* got the point of that warning.

  6. Even if there wasn’t a warning on the game to mind your surroundings, you should have the common fucking sense to still mind your surroundings. Whatever. If you are an idiot and doing stupid things like trying to scale a security wall/gate/fence/whatever for instance, you deserve whatever is coming to you.
