SEGA & Kidrobot Are Collaborating On A Sonic 25th Anniversary Collection

Designer toy producer and retailer Kidrobot has announced a new partnership with SEGA. The two will launch a Sonic the Hedgehog 25th anniversary collection in the winter of 2016. Among the products are a Sonic the Hedgehog Blind Box Mini Series, a Sonic the Hedgehog Blind Box Keychain Series and a Sonic the Hedgehog Medium Figure. Allen Richardson, Kidrobot’s Vice President of Product & Marketing, said that “Kidrobot is very happy to partner with SEGA. We are excited to bring Kidrobot’s unique style and sensibility to their ever-popular Sonic the Hedgehog brand”. Ivo Gerscovich, SEGA of America’s senior vice president and Sonic chief brand officer, added on by saying that “This collaboration brings together the fandom of pop culture icon Sonic the Hedgehog with the premier creative forces at Kidrobot. Fans across the world will be able to celebrate Sonic for years to come with this creative and fun partnership.”

    Kidrobot’s figures are like a westernized chibi. I’ve never liked their figures personally. They’re the kind you see sold at hot topic and similar novelty shops.
