US: Pokémon-Branded Merchandise Rose 105 Percent In July Compared To Previous Year

The success of the ultra-popular mobile title Pokémon GO has benefited a number of retailers in the United States. Adobe’s Digital Price Index says that Pokémon-branded merchandise rose 105 percent in July compared with the previous year. Party City Holdco Inc., Hasbro Inc., Scholastic Corp., GameStop Corp. and Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc are all companies that are licensed to sell Pokémon themed merchandise in the United States.

“It feels like the ’90s all over again,” said Morales, who is 22. “We just had a group of kids in the store that got a lot of Pikachu dolls and they were playing and talking in the cute Pikachu voices.”
