While there was no Mario Kart game at the Wii U’s launch, another kart racer managed to fill that void. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed released alongside the Wii U in 2012 and was fairly well received. Now its developers say they are ready to get behind the wheel again. In an interview with Edge Magazine, design director Gareth Wilson claimed that their team were open to developing a third entry to the series. Interestingly, the developers also joked about some kind of fighting game using the Sega characters. Is this something you’d like to see? Tell us in the comments.
“We could definitely do another one. For this one we’d just got into our stride in the last couple of months of production. We really knew exactly what the game was; we’d got all the tracks and all the tools.”
“If we ever do another one, we should have a fighting game where the characters are inside mechs of themselves, so you’ve got Sonic pulling Eggman’s arm off and beating him to death with it.”
