YouTuber Tilmen has produced a new video sharing some information he has heard regarding the forthcoming Nintendo NX platform. He reports that the Eurogamer report is correct, but says to expect something that’s a little off the wall and extremely exciting. Tilmen has also heard that Animal Crossing is in development for the Nintendo NX and will be a launch title for the platform when it launches in March 2017. The game will tie into the upcoming Animal Crossing title that we know is in development for mobile platforms. You can hear more in the video below.

the animal crossing phone app tying into the next main series game isn’t anything new, but i can’t believe nintendo would release the next main series animal crossing on a console after seeing the sales comparisons between the console/mobile games lol
New Leaf only sold because there was no console alternative of it on Wii U so people settled for less. There were a number of games that, if put on Wii U instead of 3DS, could have helped the Wii U sell consoles. Same for Smash. If there was only a Wii U version, that would have helped sell consoles. Bad marketing, games that should have been home console only, the name. All these things buried Wii U. :/

There is only 1 Animal Crossing game….Like Harvest Moon, it will be NX/Wii U, iOS, Android and PC. So whatever Animal Crossing app is being made why limit to just mobile. If that is case, why would they make a completely different game to tie a mobile game with console, when in fact you can make an app that works on console. Maybe a 3ds game sets up a console game like Metroid Federation Force games setting up Metroid 4.
A lot of mobile games tied into console games back in the gamecube days, like Fusion and Prime.
Maybe this has something to do with the brand new hybrid MX ecosystem that the super duper late iwata talked about. Imagine playing animal crossing on mobiles and later trading villagers with the nx hybrid edition of the game…..hmmmm sounds good to me.

For what Mr. Tanabe said, a new Metroid game may come to the NX, so it is nothing new, tilmen is not saying something relevant. He is just creating rumors based on things people know.

While I will never actually believe this guy had legitimate sources, this particular claim is one I’d expect to just happen to come true. It’s been long enough since New Leaf for a new main entry, and it would make sense for it to tie into the mobile game (since Nintendo said the mobile game would tie into a game for a dedicated platform).
Eurogamer might be close but there is no way the thing is packing an Nvidia chip.
Also, we are only seeing the handheld rumors. There will be a home console version on par with the NEO
