You can now download The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on the Wii U eShop starting today in North America. The version doesn’t include any refinements and includes the motion controls that were prevalent in the original.

Never got to play it on Wii so i’ll probably buy this.
wow.. now i can finally play it… just need spirit tracks on the eshop and i will finally beat all the existing zelda games (except for CDI ones)

Every main console Zelda game is now on Wii U (Majora’s Mask via Wii VC, and hopefully it gets the upgrade to Wii U VC). One good thing of note about the Wii U.

Nope. They really screwed up making this game in standard definition. Unlike Wndwaker, skyward sword looks horrible on HD TV. Can’t play it with that many Jaggies.
It doesn’t even have to be a full remake. Just a bump to the lowest form of HD would make it playable for me. Sucks because I liked the game and can’t finish hero mode in its current form.
Did they leave the patch out that they made for it?

Trust us. The game looks fucking atrocious in HD. I played the Wii version I had on my Wii U once & couldn’t stand to play it for more than a few minutes. Jaggy as fuck! @.@ So if you play SS on Wii U, you’ll have to cut the Wii U’s input from 720 or higher to 420. @.@
I had it on Wii. But I traded it in when I got my Wii U. So I never got to experience its “HD” glory haha.
Yeah. Sadly Wii games do not get an upscale when played on Wii U. So a game with an artstyle like Skyward Sword’s ends up looking terrible on it.

This is one game that definitely needs an HD remaster because the artstyle & HD just don’t mesh well at all at it’s current SD quality. If you get this game for Wii U, be sure to change the video quality from 720 or higher to 420. Otherwise, have fun killing your eyes or getting sick.

I highly recommend just purchasing a physical copy and playing it on a standard TV through an actual Wii because the Wii U won’t upscale it.
The image quality becomes heavily pixelated, and the game itself doesn’t translate well through an HDTV.
To me this look very suspicious, back in the Wii day there was a majoras mask for VC, then an updated version came out for the N3DS, so who knows probably will be an HD version for the NX!! It’s a possibility and I will definitely buy it!
