The latest Yooka-Laylee trailer has landed and it features an incredible piece of news. Just like the indie game Runbow, Shovel Knight will crossover into the game. This marks the first major collaboration between Yacht Club Games and Playtonic, two of the most successful Kickstarter based indie developers. Cool addition. Shovel Knight was an awesome game. Mighty no. 9 turned out to be shit, hopefully this game isn’t.
Theres no need to be hopeful, its definitely going to be good. They have released enough footage and gameplay that we can be sure. Not to mention the guys behind this game are responsible for some of the greatest 3rd party titles of all by time, like The DK Country series, Goldeneye 64, and Banjo Kazooie. ( yes I know DK is a Nintendo IP but rare still developed, and these guys are all vets of those projects.)
We can say that it’s at least decent. But there’s no guarantee that it will be great. The gameplay could be repetitive or the game could be too short. Let’s hope it’s not.

You forgot Perfect Dark, which felt like an improvement over Goldeneye 64 for me.
It was an improvement, but I was thinking of games that are household names. Perfect dark didnt sell as well even though it was the superior game.
Shovel Knight I have yet to say, by the way you react, I cant wait to play.
As long as that Wii U logo sticks there I’m happy. Port it to NX, sure, whatever, but don’t take it off Wii U, no matter how long you have to delay it!!
They’re building the Wii U version as the main one and having another company port it to PS4 and Xbox One, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
They also said they had no plans to put it on NX. That may have changed, but that was their stance the last time they commented on it.
Well, Yooka-Laylee just shot up to the top of my “must-play” list- I love Shovel Knight!

It’ll be nice if they can get Banjo & Kazooie in there. I’d love to Yooka and Laylee’s reactions to meeting their predecessors. Bet Kazooie would call them franchise stealers. Cause, you know, it’s Kazooie.
I wouldn’t be be too surprised if that ends up being a secret on the X1 version.

Plus, I’d like to see Mario make an appearence, Yooka & Laylee would probably flip over themselves from meeting one of gaming’s legends.

Nintendo needs to purchase Playtonic Games and make YookaLaylee a Nintendo franchise. Since they don’t have BanjoKazooie under their belt anymore, having the spiritual successor under theirs would be a great move imo.

This is the closes you are going to get to Banjo Kazooie. And the more I see this game, the more it reminds me of my bird and bird. Im going to love this game.

I do admit it would be nice to play Banjo Kazooie on smash. Yooka-Laylee will just have to be on Smash Bros. Instead.
No! Banjo & Kazooie deserve it more! You remember what Nintendo said about the Smash Ballot’s rules. They said any video game character that has at least been on a Nintendo platform could enter. They’re more famous and well known.

Cool. Tbh I’ve been wanting the next Shovel Knight game to either be Super Shovel Knight and be more like an enhanced Super Nintendo game or Shovel Knight 64 and look a bit like this mixed with Ocarina of Time type mechanics. I still hope they eventually do both of those but for now seeing him in Yooka-Layle will be cool enough.

I love that they totally could have fully voiced all the characters, but chose not to anyway. While sliiiightly obnoxious, as long as most of the jabber conversations don’t go on too long, I think it adds just the right amount if charming stupidity to an already absurd world.
Yooka-Laylee looks rather nice, I wonder whats he eats like chicken or rice?

The Graphics on Yooka-Laylee looks rather dope, i wonder if the character like Banjo climbs ropes.

This title will be amazing! as a huge fan of the banjo kazooie Games nuts and bolts doesn’t exist but the first two games were and still are awesome so this game will restore the love for the people that still love those games
Guess I’m the only non fan of shovel knight and bothered by his inclusion in Yooka-Laylee and sees this as a cheap way to get more people to play their game. Shovel knight isn’t a classic game and I hate his character model.
