While some Pokémon trading cards are rarer than others, this twentieth anniversary card takes the cake. To celebrate twenty years of the franchise, The Pokémon Company are releasing a limited edition 24-karat gold Pikachu card. Based on the original card from the first TCG set, Pikachu certainly looks a bit different than he does today. The card can currently be pre-ordered for the princely sum of $2100.

Actually, that card isn’t even close to the rarest. The rarest one is called “Illustrator”, and only a few copies still exist. I think the cheapest one has sold for was $20,000.
Pickachu thiccer than a bowl of oatmeal
Looks obese. Must have been prior to Ash walking around with em.
“Millennials aren’t buying diamonds and gold”
“That’s not true, they loved those Burger King pokemon cards made of gold”
“I know exactly what we need to do.”
