It has been rumoured for a while now that Pokémon GO will be getting the second generation of monsters in a massive update before the end of the year. However, Niantic has now officially announced that more Pokémon will be coming to the game. While no official date was given for the update, more details are coming on December 12th.

Doubtful. The game data for the Gen 2 Pokemon were added in an update several weeks back.
I don’t think there’s anything they can add to get me to start playing anymore. I think I’m done forever.
What about PvP battles and trading?
No. It’s not a lack of motivation thing, it’s more like a “my best friend who I would do PoGO hunts until 4am with was just killed in a freak accident and I can’t bring myself to want to play anymore” thing.
