Every year Google releases data showing what its users searched for and this year is no exception. Interestingly, it is Pokémon GO which takes the crown for the most searched for term of 2016. It was followed by the iPhone 7, Donald Trump, Prince, and Powerball. The popular augmented reality application sure is unstoppable.
It was already quite obvious that Pokémon had a resurgance this year but damn, most searched term of 2016?!!
If you look up these search terms on google trends, Pokemon Go’s peak popularity was more than double Donald Trump’s. Pikachu should have run for President.
