If you’re like me and you’re currently taking a leisurely approach to exploring the vast areas of Hyrule then the video embedded below may not be for you. YouTuber Venick409 has taken the liberty of speedrunning Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and manages to complete the game in a little over an hour.
Obviously there are huge spoilers in the video so if you do view it, you can’t say I didn’t warn you.
This writer is still happily galloping around The Great Plateau and has an unhealthy obsession with cooking up random dishes. Are you speeding through or taking your time with the game? Let me know below.
I don’t even know how to cook yet, but I’m nearing the first major boss so that’ll be cool to complete.
Really? All you have to do is hold ingredients and then drop them in a pot that’s over a fire. That simple.
That’s good to know since I kept freezing to death
I can tell you how to get through the cold region on the Great Plateau without using food that boosts cold resistance. But I’m not sure if you are one of those people that freak out over minor gameplay spoilers.
I tried to go for the final boss after i talked to impa but i gave up. its too hard
It’s so easy? I got killed even by blue boblins…
I wish people would stop using the word “Complete” when they just mean “Beaten/Finished”. “Complete” generally means you’ve actually done all there is to do in the game.
I wouldn’t consider that a speed run honestly. He beat the final boss, but not even close to completing the game. Not impressed..
i dont think a speed run has anything to do with completion. its the shortest time between title screen and end credits…
I know, and that’s the problem. I think there is a fundamental flaw in the way speed runs are done. The way the rules are set up, is there are no rules. You can use any glitch, defect, or trick to get to the end credits. That means if your playing a game and you happen to find a glitch that allows you to go from the start of a game to the very end boss in one second, like you instantly teleport there, that would be considered a legitimate speed run. That’s dumb. That’s not a speed run. Your not even playing the game. Speed runs should really just be called glitch runs. I remember when speed runs were a brand new idea, people would legitimately play the game from beginning to the end, just going as fast as possible. That’s a real speed run. Not the bullshit they do on YouTube today where they just see how many glitches they can find in the game.
Taking my time. Can’t wait to get further but don’t want it to end.
F that. It’s so sweet and juicy, ima explore the hell outta this game.
Also! I was FINALLY able to download the data packs for Xenoblade. Thank God for hotels!
