Dragon Quest XI is in development by Square Enix for the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch but we are still eagerly awaiting a release date for the JRPG. Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii says that we should expect an announcement about the game fairly soon and that the development team are ploughing away on the title.
“All of the staff are currently working really hard making the game,” Horii said regarding Dragon Quest XI. “I think that we’ll be able to make an announcement of some sort soon, so please look forward to it.”

I played Dragon Quest IX very briefly, I really did like it. But when this comes out it will be my first official Dragon Quest game, I really can’t wait.
I’ve never played a Dragon Quest game before. This would be my first. I’m intrigued, but not excited.
I can understand you. I played Dragon Quest VIII and wasn’t impressed at all, in fact I abandoned it early.
Though I can give it another chance, at least played with my children. I hope they dropped random encounters (ok with 2D games, but with 3D they are just annoying).
Project Octopath is more inspiring (even if clearly with a far lesser budget).
I’ve always been interested in the MMO version of the game. That’s one thing that would really be new for Nintendo, a working MMO. The game’s always look fun and beautiful. Maybe it’s time to give one a shot! SOMETIME AFTER the new ZELDA that is!
MMO should take money away from Nintendo. When playing Neverwinter I never touched another game for many months.
