UK: Here’s This Week’s Charts

It’s Monday which means it is time to find out how the various software releases performed in the United Kingdom. It has been a quiet week this week for new releases so Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands remains the best-selling video game. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the only Nintendo Switch game in the top ten, but that’s presumably due to shortages of both the game and Nintendo Switch units.

In a quiet week for new releases, ‘Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ occupies the top spot for a second week. It is a good start to the year for Ubisoft who now have the most weeks at No1 so far in 2017 with four (‘For Honor’ also grabbed two weeks at the top a month ago). An impressive second week for ‘Lego Worlds’ sees it leapfrog ‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’, up one place to No2 with only a 34% decline in sales. ‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’, Sony’s biggest ever PS4 launch of a new IP, has to settle for No3. Familiar faces, ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ and ‘FIFA 17’ remain popular; GTA creeping up one place to No4, while FIFA shimmies up two places to No5. ‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ is now the only Switch game in the Top 10, down 2 places to No6, while ‘1-2 Switch’ falls from No9 to No17. Retailer hardware bundling propels 3 old Xbox One exclusives back in to the Top 40, with re-entries for ‘Forza Motorsport 5’ at No16, ‘Rare Reply’ at No27 and ‘Ryse: Son of Rome’ at No31. A retailer promotion also signals a re-entry for ‘Homefront: The Revolution’, back in the Top 40 at No22. The only new title to make the Top 40 this week is ‘Styx: Shards of Darkness’ from Focus Home Interactive & Maximum Games, debuting at No37.

  1. I wish I could play Horizon Zero. oh well. I will have to check if Nier is a Sony exclusive.

Microsoft is really dropping the ball. dumb fucks canceled their best exclusive heading into Spring. Zelda will keep me busy another month at least. so I suppose I’m good. Then I’ll just go back to X and chip away at that again.

      1. So no Xbox? :) DAMN. x.x And with Mass Effect looking more and more shitty, that’s discouraging. I’m just going to wait the next couple months out, ironically gaming on my WiiU, then see what games come out or announced at E3 I suppose.

      2. Haha, yeaa, Mass Effect really hasn’t been leaving the best impression on people these past days. Such a shame, was considering giving it a shot, but I think I’ll save my money, hah.

      3. Mass Effect 3 was some of the most fun I had on my WiiU (besides MH3U, X, The Tomorrow Corporation) – I have been looking forward to this game for so long. I think I’ll wait for it to go on sale now. :/

      4. Waiting for a sale sounds like a good idea. Though it definitely sucks for a game you’ve been looking forward to this whole time to turn out not as good as expected. /:
I never got around trying the series out, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Was thinking about playing the trilogy before getting Andromeda, but yea, guess the last part of that plan won’t be happening, hah. Though I still do want to play the older parts at some point. q:

I was looking at Andromeda the other day & thinking “Maybe I should get this.” Then I see the reprehension about the game from you two. Good thing I decided not to buy it.

Of course Breath of the Wild would lose to Grand Theft Auto 5! That game refuses to leave the damn sales charts! I really should play my copy some day soon.
