While you can’t play as Sonic, Samus or Kirby in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, your Mii can dress as those characters if you have the right amiibo figure. The majority of these costumes were featured in the original Wii U game, but there are a couple of new additions. Check out AbdallahSmash026’s video showing them off.

I tried Toon Zelda this morning and it didn’t work, but then I tried Toon Link and that did work.

Nope, it said “this amiibo cannot be used with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” just like the other unsupported amiibo
well that’s kind of a fail on nintendo’s part since wolf link is still technically link even though he has midna riding him. speaking of fails, did anyone notice that now the inkling’s don’t die when they go underwater in mk8d??? lolololololol
