We recently reported that the price of RiME will be decreasing due to the developer wanting to “provide a fair deal to everyone around”. It would seem this doesn’t count for the folks over in Australia. The title will be locked at a price point of $79.95AU at launch both digitally and physically, according to Vooks. To recap, RiME is now going to be $29.99/€34.99/£29.99, down from its original price of $39.99/€44.99/£39.99 in all other territories.
Remember though, the Nintendo Switch is region free so you do have the option of purchasing from an alternative retailer.
They can’t control import and sales taxes which makes all video games pricey in Australia.
Most likely the retailers (physical shops) won’t want to sell a copy of the game or advertise it almost double the price of that of the digital version – if that makes sense?
Then do to Australia what Capcom did to the US with Ace Attorney. Go Digital Only.
wait its 60$ since its AUS $
Wth gaming is a rich man’s pleasure in Australia looks like lol
It is.
The Switch is region free. People can just choose a different eShop and download the game for the standard price.
Exactly. Digital is the way to go in Australia it seems
