It had been teased for a few months now, but it is now official as of today. The official Twitter for Super Meat Boy has confirmed that the game will release digitally on the Nintendo Switch “this year”. However, a physical version will require a longer wait. The tweet confirmed that a physical release is coming “probably next year”, indicating that this is not set in stone. The official tweet can be viewed down below.
Yes. SMB on Switch will happen this year. Physical Switch (probably) next year. https://t.co/A5eYkfls81

Anyone know the file size of this port yet? If it’s less than 2GB, why have a physical version?
Because physical looks prettier on a shelf than digital does
Again, if the file size is that miniscule, why need it when the minimum is 8GB?
This is not about “needing” it, this is about “wanting” it. A lot of people (me included) just prefer cartridges over downloads.
Some people, like myself, actually like something physical that they can see and touch, outside of playing the game.
That’s fine
Physical is the way.
What about The End Is Nigh tho? Been waiting a long time for a release date on that and they haven’t said anything at all regarding the Switch version.
My preorder on amazon.com says December 17th or something like that. Don’t know if this is true, though.
