If there is one thing that retailers are infamous for in the gaming world, it is breaking street dates for video games. The latest game to see this happen is Super Mario Odyssey, where a retailer in Portugal has given a user the game early. We don’t know much about what happened, but they did post a picture of the game to prove that they did have it. We’ve included that picture down below.
A Retailer In Portugal Has Broken Super Mario Odyssey’s Street Date

My dad works at nintendo. I got the game 2 months ago
Pics of you with the game playing it or it didn’t happen
Cool story, bro.
*cough* BULLSHIT!
Thats the joke 😑
Everyone has a relative at Nintendo.
Yeh, my dad works at Nintendo too. And I’ve played prime 4 already. 100% complete. Hmm!!
the final boss leaked btw
Eradication imminent…
Its portugal, they will get away with it no problem
Do you even know what you are talking about? What do you mean with that? Were you ever in my country?
||They have already been dispatched, it’s only a matter of time now…||
Exellent Commander!
Swiftly they shall learn not to try us.
There going to get in trouble then why must people show off stuff like this early this is the main reason why Nintendo is trying to get strict on rules if you get a copy early keep it to ya self
Why should I, a customer, have to keep quiet about a game I bought with my own money? It’s the stores fault. Not mine. If I get the game early, I’m sharing it.
Because you’re being considerate of the employee who could get fired for you sharing it, for absolutely no gain for yourself.
That’s not my problem. It’s theirs for giving it out early.
lol do you not remember the switch dilma that happen a week before the switch released, I suggest hiding it so you won’t get in trouble by Nintendo there called Nintendo ninjas fora reason
Wern’t those Switches stolen or some other Error? Meanwhile, I paid for my copy of the game.
It’s not like you have to keep quite about it but you should for the shops sake, because they can get into trouble for this (and possible elliminate the chance of getting games ealry in the future…).
Something like this could also provoke a future where, for example, you have to activate games online and only after release first to counter stuff like that, like on Steam.
Sure if you don’t care about this you can do whatever you want.
I am with felixgray here though, if you get the game this early at least don’t tell the whole internet about it.
For the shops sake? The same one that let it out early in the first place? No. When I get my game that I paid for, I’m gonna show it off.
“For the shops sake? The same one that let it out early in the first place? No. When I get my game that I paid for, I’m gonna show it off.” Cause you’re the one who benefitted from their mistake you tool. If you need a day off work or whatever and your supervisor goes “you don’t have any vacation days left but okay” you don’t go to his manager and tell them what the supervisor did.
Yes, call me a tool for wanting to show off a game that I bought. Nice chat
The guy broke the rules & gave a game out days before release. If he gets caught because the customer showed the game off, oh well. Or should the employee be rewarded for such bad behavior? That’s what you people defending this employee seem to be forgetting. If he wasn’t willing to do the time for his actions, he shouldn’t have committed the crime that led to the consequences in the first place. I, personally, wouldn’t be a dick & get the guy in trouble, but even if I did get him into trouble, it’s not my problem he did something he wasn’t supposed to.
OH & there is one part of this topic we all seem to be forgetting. These stores have cameras. The employee was going to get caught whether the customer showed off the game or not. So all this white knighting for the employee is utterly pointless.
Yup that store just got blacklisted by Nintendo lol they just made the naughty list for that . No further shipments for them lol

Why is a boring character like Pauline on the inside when she’s just as significant as any other NPC in the game
Because she’s the one singing the song who’s lyrics are on the inside jacket.
That boring character is the main reason Mario and every Nintendo character exist, we wouldn’t even have Nintendo games in any country but Japan if it wasn’t for her Mario, and donkey kong
Her, Jump Man and Donkey Kong actually. And considering that DK is Kranky Kong’s grandson, and that Kranky Kong is the original Donkey Kong… It is possible that Pauline and Jump Man Mario are Super Mario’s parents.
While possible, I doubt it. Donkey Kong & Cranky Kong are apes who have shorter life spans than humans. It makes sense Cranky Kong would be old while Mario isn’t.
Someone is getting fired for this. lol
They jusgot black listed after the post lol
Hah! My Uncle Nintendo gave me Mario Odyssey 2 four months ago!
All I gotta say is… Lucky fucking sob! He, or she, gets to enjoy it a good 5 days before the rest of us! It’s not fair! D:
They speak English in Portugal? The lyrics to the theme song are in English.
Of course you dumb fuck. Of course we speak english. Go learn more about Portugal.
Who the hell cares about Portugal to go and read about it? There’s probably a whole lot of things I can call YOU “dumb” about too.
You sound like a child. Time to grow up and calm down.
Collector, obviously our official language is portuguese, but many people feel perfectly confortable with english. Dubbing is rather rare, except in children’s programming, most movies are subtitled, etc.
Dubbing is even rarer in games, and most don’t even have portuguese subtitles. And when they do, they tend to be in brazilian portuguese. Most people tend to prefer the english version.
So, yeah, lots of games in english around here :)
I’m in no rush to get the game (even though I have it preordered). Even when I buy it on the 27th, I probably won’t play it for ages, since I’m so backed up on games. And in November I’ll be getting Assassin’s Creed Origins, so that’ll be yet another game to my backed up list. I only recently started playing The Witcher III.
By the way, this site is STILL doing it. Keeps forcing me to log out and log back in before posting my comments (after the first comment has already posted). Very annoying.
