The team over at Mojang and Microsoft have announced that Minecraft on the New Nintendo 3DS has been updated today to include local multiplayer. This means you can team up with a friend locally and play Minecraft together to your heart’s content. Minecraft is available now only on the New Nintendo 3DS.

First playing in stereoscopic 3D and now local multiplayer. Can’t wait for online. I’m curious of their srcond set of 6 to 8 months updates, and hope crossplay becomes a part of it, but they probably want it up to date with the other copies before giving it crossplay, so 3rd or 4th set of 6 months it is i suppose.
I’m not sure this version can have cross-play with consoles…
I’m sure it would. Sony be damned if this little version can play with the others.
It does 2016 x 2016 blocks and 128 blocks high. Its superior to the Wii U version just like Hyrule Warriors before it (when played on New 3DS, not OG 3DS). This is exclusive to New 3DS after sll, and the Wii U version only does 900 x 900 blocks. The 3DS has always done 120 million polygons and this is cell-shaded, plus the New 3DS has twice the RAM for software, as well as 6 times more CPU, but 1 GHz micro GPU is still underclock @400 MHz, which translate to pure more processing power compare to old 3DS since Micro GPU is left exactly the same.
Just here waiting for the European version………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
