The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced today that a new Mythical Pokémon has been discovered in the world of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon: Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon!
Zeraora is an Electric-type Pokémon that gathers electric energy from outside sources, emitting strong electrical currents from the pads on its hands and feet to create a powerful magnetic field. Zeraora uses this magnetic field to levitate and move through the air with extreme speed.

This Mythical Pokémon is said to be so fast that its maximum speed is the same as that of lightning strikes. When using massive amounts of electric energy for a powerful attack, Zeraora’s fur stands on end all over its body!
Zeraora is only available in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, and cannot be encountered in regular gameplay. Launched in November, 2017, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are the latest titles in the core Pokémon video game series available exclusively on the Nintendo 3DSTM family of systems.

Too bad he is only electric type. We already had Raiku which is only electric type. Why they didn’t make him electric and fighting type or electric and dark type?
just electric is actually great typing. Electric type is only weak to ground type, and if this pokemon has the ability levitate (which negates ground type moves) as implied, it would essentially have no weakness. Adding another type to it would just open it up to other type disadvantages.
Fair point, I hope they make more combination types in the future. I have been wanting an dragon and fairy type but not in the limited way like altaria (don’t get me wrong, I like altarias’s mega evolution), instead I hope they make a pokemon that’s always dragon and fairy type, which could work well because it will not be too OP because it will be weak against ice, steel and poison.
“maximum speed is the same as that of lightning strikes” means that Zeraora moves at either 220,000 mph or 220,000,000 mph (or 1/3 the speed of light). However, Zeraora is only the 12th fastest Pokemon in terms of base stats, being outsped by things such as Mega Beedrill, Electrode and Mega Aerodactyl. Not every Pokemon needs overpowered descriptions like this, especially not if the numbers don’t support it.
Don’t take it so seriously. The Pokédex entries have always been ridiculous nonsense
have you seen Magcargo’s pokedex entry… body temperature of 18,000 degrees Farenheit… double the surface temperature of the sun. Don’t take the pokedex seriously lol.
Keep in mind it’s only SAID TO BE that fast not actually that fast
Really like the design of this Pokémon. Gen 7 is finished, roll on Gen 8!
