You probably heard yesterday that a number of big video game titles went up on Walmart Canada’s website yesterday sparking a frenzy amongst gamers. The titles were seemingly for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and these included a new entry in the Splinter Cell franchise and also Borderlands 3 amongst others. Presumably these titles were meant to be announced at E3 next month and Walmart Canada has said today that the listing was caused by a “glitch.” Here’s their statement to Vice:
“Walmart experienced a technical glitch that allowed certain items to be posted to our website for a short period of time,” Anika Malik, director of corporate affairs for Walmart Canada, told Motherboard in an email. “The items posted were speculative in nature and only game publishers can confirm the announcement of a release. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Like the gaming community, Walmart looks forward with anticipation to those announcements.”

You may want to remove the game title spoilers from the article. I don’t personally care for the games mentioned, but other people may be sensitive to e3 spoilers.

Hey Walmart, you wanna give us Nintendo fans some leaks as well?
Kinda glad they didn’t, honestly.
Remember how hype it was when Smash characters were kept entirely under wraps until their reveal?
I like that kind of excitement.
Well until that one ESRB worker spoiled some of the biggest reveals.
This is kind of weird for it to be on here since it has nothing to do with Nintendo it’s just Xbox and Sony having the issue (poor guys)
Why poor guys? They got some reveals so what?
“Walmart looks forward with anticipation to those announcements” hahahaha, wow!
Oof
They just want to cash in on those preorders first…
Raise your hands if you believed in this crap.
Yeah, me neither.
My Nintendo news?
I don’t mind leaks of names so… *checks the source* No complete list!? Lame!
They did leak Nintendo stuff…….there wasn’t any titles announced that we don’t already have pre orders for.
