PlatinumGames Says That Bayonetta 3’s Development Is “Going Smoothly”

BitSummit 7 Spirits took place at Kyoko last weekend, and it gave Gematsu a chance to interview Platinum Games executive director and producer Atsushi Inaba, as well as game designer Takahisa Taur, During the interview multiple topics were discussed. They talked about how 2019 would be a big year for the company. Inaba explained why, saying that “well first, Taura’s Astral Chain is going to be released. And other than that there’s potential to release news about new titles we have on the way. And all this news would bring a major change to Platinum Games, I believe”.

Inaba was also asked about a Switch port of The Wonderful 101, and what fans could do to make it happen. Inaba has acknowledged the possibility of bringing the port, and hasn’t forgotten about this. In fact, he says that “yeah, I think I said that on multiple occasions. And I’m glad that I did. So if you could be patient with it, that’ll be great”. As for any Bayonetta 3 information, all Inaba says is that “sorry, again we can’t share anything. Although I can assure you, development is going smoothly. So please wait for further updates”.

Lastly, Inaba and Taura were asked about Astral Chain. Once again, they admitted that they just can’t say anything for the time being. Inaba said that “we want to share more, but we can’t”. However, Taura had more to add, confirming that “it’s not far from release, so there will be news soon. …Astral Chain is coming out on August 30, so stay tuned for more information. We hope you can get a copy of the game and enjoy it, and we can guarantee that its good.”

  1. Good. I’m hoping to see it at e3, but if not that’s okay. I’m fine with them taking their time and making it the best it can be. Plus we have astral chain this year, and it looks awesome.
