Japan: a physical version of Tetris 99 is releasing on August 9th

Nintendo’s official Japanese site added stuff for Tetris 99 recently, and it confirms that a retail version of the game is on the way. Tetris 99 will be available physically on August 9th, 2019. But that’s not all. Not only will you be able to get 12 months of Nintendo Switch Online, similar to Super Mario Maker’s bundle, but it will also include some DLC.

This DLC, which is called the “Complete Pack”, will include a Mochiyori Battle mode, where you can play a round of local multiplayer with up to 8 people, as well as a Share Battle mode. This mode will allow 2 players to play the game with one Joy-Con controller. These two modes are part of the second DLC that digital players will be seeing soon. If you want to pre-order the physical version of Tetris 99, you can do so here.

    1. Play it on the private server that will inevitably pop up for hacked Switch consoles. If you can still play Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast in 2019, I would be absolutely shocked if the “no hardware required to mod” Switch doesn’t get equal or better treatment in its life after official support.
