Retro Studios acquires Halo 4 character modeller for Metroid Prime 4

halo_4

We know that Retro Studios have been actively hiring for a number of personnel to fill roles in the development of the long-awaited next entry to the Metroid series, Metroid Prime 4. One of the individuals which the company has taken on is former Halo character modeller Kyle Hefley who is now a lead character artist at Retro Studios. Hefley worked at Microsoft developers 343 industries on creating designs for the Halo franchise. It currently sounds like Metroid Prime 4 is still a very long way off.

  1. That… actually sounds awesome.
The attention to detail in Halo 4 (even as an X360 game) was really good. It added so much to make it advanced and “military”-like to the point where it makes the models from the other games look basic by comparison.
So seeing a Metroid game possibly going for that kind of art direction already sounds promising.

Commander what do you think about this?

  3. Another Microsoft/Nintendo collaboration.
This game needs every quality individually it can get so this is good news.

  4. This sounds really cool. Metroid Prime 4 might get a release date like 2021 or 2022 perhaps. But, I’m still wondering if there ever be a online multiplayer like Federation Force. I don’t know how the game will look in once Retro Studios done hiring some good development team to work on the title.

    1. How so?
The character models were pretty detailed and more militaristic looking. As wht it shuld look like for armor in the series.
especially for a Xbox 360 title.
So this is pretty promising imo

  5. Thank goodness. For a second there, I thought it was saying a Halo character was going to be in Metroid prime 4. A Halo character in a Nintendo series is the LAST thing Nintendo needs. It’s bad enough Banjo is in Smash bros, but at least he started out on a Nintendo system. Master Chief in Smash bros doesn’t make any sense.
