DOOM Eternal producer explains they want to do “the right job” with Switch version

We recently heard that the long-awaited DOOM Eternal will be coming later to the Nintendo Switch platform which had some fans worried. US Gamer recently caught up with executive producer and co-director, Marty Stratton, who explained to the publication why they’ve decided to release it at a later date than other platforms. Stratton says Panic Button and the team want to do the “right job” with DOOM Eternal on Nintendo Switch and also said that the end result is “gonna surprise people.”

“Our partner on that, Panic Button, I’ve referred to them many times as masters of the platform, and they’re proving it again. I really think it’s gonna surprise people[…] I see it all the time in the comments, when we release a video: ‘Can’t wait to play it on Switch, can’t wait to play it on Switch.’ I think people are going to love it.

“We’re having it come out later because we want to do the right job with it, we want it to be the highest quality version of the game on the Switch,” he continues. “[We] don’t want to be compromising in any way.”

  1. That’s cool, it’s a big game with big expectations so making sure it’s all good with a delay is the best thing to do. Some devs probably wouldn’t spend the effort with things like this, but they should. I could buy the PS4 version possibly, but I too want this on switch regardless.

  2. I mean it’s Panic Button so them delaying the game means it will look and play great on the hybrid console.

  3. I’m just gonna play it on ps4. The switch port of doom is good, but it is the inferior version of the game.

Are we going to get the game running at 60 fps?

    1. I highly doubt it. They will for sure trade the 30 frames for graphical enhancements. The goal/budget is usually to achieve 30fps. But hey, let’s see what happens.

  5. I can not believe that this game is nearly two weeks away till release! I have yet to purchase a copy for my switch but I currently have DOOM on other Platforms. I’m hoping I can get the helmet at best buy
