Nintendo has told the media that it fully condemns the accusations of abuse within the Super Smash Bros competitive community. The recently disclosed accusations range from “inappropriate sexual messages to sexual relationships with minors on the sidelines of tournament events, and even accusations of rape.” Here’s what the company had to say on the matter:
“We are deeply disturbed by the allegations raised against certain members of the competitive gaming community. They are absolutely impermissible.
“We want to make it clear that we condemn all acts of violence, harassment, and exploitation against anyone and that we stand with the victims.”
Thanks to Joseph for the news tip!
wasn’t this the same community that got told to shower before coming to the competition because the smell was so bad?
And that, ladies and gentlemen, why Nintendo does not endorse Smash tournaments.
that is not actually the reason tho
Yes, that’s actually the reason. It has always been because of the liability that would happen if something like this happens. Now Nintendo is in the situation where there pre-Smash WiiU/3DS and Ultimate tournaments/promotions feature these players.
||and is horrible to think that human kind can do such terrible actions…||
“Human kind”? What are you a robot?
