EA shares what gameplay extras are being included in Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered speeds its way onto Nintendo Switch on 13th of November and other platforms on the 6th of November and EA has outlined some of the neat gameplay additions that are being added to the game. As well as six hours worth of extra gameplay, five DLC packs will be available to enjoy from the get-go and more than 30 challenges have been integrated into the single-player campaign, according to the official website.

Take a peek below to see what else is being packed in:

Here are the DLC racer cars:

  • Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
  • Aston Martin DBS
  • Audi R8 Coupe 5.2 FSI quattro
  • Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible
  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4
  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06
  • Dodge Viper SRT10
  • Dodge Viper SRT10 Final Edition
  • Ford GT500 Shelby
  • Gumpert Apollo S
  • Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV
  • Lamborghini Diablo SV
  • Lamborghini Reventón
  • Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
  • Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S
  • Nissan 370Z
  • Porsche 911 Turbo
  • Porsche Cayman S
  • Porsche 911 Speedster
  • Porsche 959
  • Porsche Panamera Turbo
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS

And the DLC cop cars:

  • Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport
  • Gumpert Apollo S
  • Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV
  • Lamborghini Diablo SV
  • Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
  • Porsche 959
  • Porsche 911 Speedster
  • Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Two exciting ways to race and chase in multiplayer have been added from the DLC packs as well: Arms Race and Most Wanted.

Arms Race is a chaos-on-four-wheels race mode where everyone is armed to the teeth. Use gadgets, equipment, and dirty tricks against your opponents, and stop at nothing to be the first one crossing the finish line.

Most Wanted presents a thrilling open world experience where a team of cops is tasked with hunting down one player marked as Most Wanted. The hunted’s allies, on the other hand, must do everything they can to slow the cops down and help the Most Wanted to escape.

In addition, the original game’s achievements and trophies have been updated and combined with the DLC equivalents. A brand new car color picker allows players to choose from a broad range of different colors and paint types. Every single shortcut and alternate route in the game world have been reviewed, too, with added props and improved visibility for any hard stop, entrance, and exit.

And that’s not all:

  • The looks and readability of the HUD have been improved
  • There is an all new Racer Garage
  • All the menu screens and loading screens have been updated with more useful information available for the player across all events on the career map screen
  • The original CG intro video has been AI upressed
  • Every video in the game has been remade and updated
  • The online multiplayer menus have been updated and improved
  • The ability to skip video and reward sequences has been added, for players who just want to cut straight to the action.

  1. That arms race actually sounds good.

Look at EA jumping on the switch bandwagon now that its seeing success though.

  2. Pretty excited for this only because I still play hot pursuit from time to time and some modern rendering tech (like anti aliasing that works), reflections and mirrors that work, better lighting, shadows, draw distance etc will all be VERY welcome changes.

People actually showing up on the autolog again will be nice. It seems like EA shut the servers down on the original autoblog years ago and I used to have a blast just trying to beat friends stage times when.

Hopefully it’s not all broken on day 1 but since this isn’t a full remake and it’s using the same engine and base game with some modern wax on the proverbial paint it should work just fine…which is the opposite of the last 2-3 NFS games which are buggy unoptimized messes with awful physics. On a 2080ti even at 1440p I have problems getting a locked 60 and settings don’t see to change that. Meanwhile in forza horizon 4 maxed out at 4k I have no issue playing at a locked 60 and even above and that’s with 8xMSAA! Yes…8xMSAA at 4k60. It’s such a well optimized game.

I know what they are, it’s gambling mechanics and macrotransactions!

    1. Already playing it on steam and thankfully there is no gambling or surprise mechanics. Probably because there were none in the original and this is literally the original with some rendering changes in the engine. Otherwise it’s identical..in a good way

Jesus I can’t believe I’m currently defending EA and absolutely despising ubi soft lol. Watch Dogs runs horribly.. beyond belief horrible in fact. I think that makes like 7 ubi soft games in a row that ran badly on basically half the people who bought it. 2 months from now it will be playable lol. It’s so odd… Doesn’t matter what resolution you use, what visual settings, doesn’t even matter if you use dx11 or 12 it just runs bad.
