The latest UK video game software charts have arrived and while we are under lockdown here in the United Kingdom physical video game sales don’t seem to have been affected. There are no new releases in the top ten despite the release of EA’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit – Remastered (No.35) and Codemasters Dirt 5 (No.38). Sadly sales of Pikmin 3 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch have slipped substantially as the game is now at No.27 (last week it was No.7) However it’s not all bad news for Nintendo as Switch game sales have jumped an incredible 38% this week. Here’s the GfK Top Ten for the week ending 7th November 2020:
- Mario Kart 8: Deluxe at No.3 jumped 41% in sales
- Minecraft (No.5) on Switch enjoyed a 39% bump
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars is up 24% (No.6)
- Ring Fit Adventure rose 69% in sales (No.7)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons enjoyed a sales jump of 22% week-on-week

I haven’t really noticed any advertising for Pikmin 3 so not surprised it’s dropping off the charts. My guess is that for a full-price port of a game for one of their C-list series’ they’re probably satisfied with the sales.
