Back in September, Nintendo announced that they were going to be ending production of the 3DS family of handheld consoles. Prior to the announcement, Nintendo had been very sporadic with their 3DS support. In the last couple of years, all Nintendo has been doing is the occasional firmware update.
Well, that occasional firmware update has happened again. Version 11.14.0-46 released earlier tonight. As usual, Nintendo’s 3DS updates continue to be very small, including the patch notes. All Nintendo says is that “further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience”.
With all the updates, it’s a shame the 3DS didn’t evolve into the 4DS.
I thought of that back then when the 3DS came out 2 years later.
Don’t give up hope, Switch is a home console, only replacing the failed Wii U, 3DS still has a successor coming.
The 3ds stay winning
Will Nintendo just f**k off with the firmware updates.
It’s done! Let us have OUR handheld scene!
At this point it feels like Nintendo only updates this thing to prevent people from hacking it, which is stupid
Maybe so maybe not.
Or just maybe SO.
The production ended but the support still exists, they need to patch security flaws at least until the console reachs EOL.
Well hackers shouldn’t be worried though, they have plenty of un-patchable methods use.
Nintendo 3DS has a good decent years. We do have a lot of good times with this system. 3DS firmware updates is staying golden.
The 3ds is almost 10 years old.
with the switch, there was no chance for 4DS.
they was planing the switch and with this idea the handheld was suppose to die.
