
Nintendo has revised the list of the best-selling Nintendo Switch games so far. The leader of the pack is the unstoppable Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which has sold a staggering 33.41 million units worldwide. The enhanced Wii U port is just ahead of the latest Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo Switch which is Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which has shifted 31.18 million units. Here’s the top ten best-selling Switch games as of 1st February 2021:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 33.41M (+4.42M)
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 31.18M (+5.14M)
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 22.85M (+1.75M)
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 21.45M (+1.71M)
- Pokémon Sword/Shield – 20.35M (+1.33M)
- Super Mario Odyssey – 20.23 (+1.24M)
- Super Mario Party – 13.82M (+1.72M)
- Pokémon: Let’s Go! – 13.00 (+510K)
- Splatoon 2 – 11.90M (+630K)
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 9.82M (+1.5M)
Animal crossing is just staggering. The fact that it has nearly sold the same amount as Mario Kart 8 deluxe in less than a year, when that game has been out for nearly 4 years, is incredible

Congrats to AC:NH’s incredible breakout success, I genuinely think the Switch got some demographics that usually don’t game on anything but mobile platforms. It’s truly that accessible as a game, while also avoiding walking simulator pitfalls. Not exactly my kind of game, though
