Bill Trinen reiterates that Bayonetta 3 development is “progressing well”

Nintendo of America’s senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen and senior director of localisation Nate Bihldorff have answered questions directed at them by Games Radar regarding Bayonetta 3. The publication asked the two Nintendo of America employees what the status is of the long-awaited Bayonetta 3 from Platinum Games. Nate Bihldorff told the website that “It definitely still exists and Bill Trinen went one further and said that “it’s progressing well” and the company will show fans the game once Platinum Games are ready to show it off to the world. He concluded by saying that fans should stay tuned.

Games Radar: “Where is Bayonetta 3? Does it still exist? We’re dying out here. Are you going to show it to us again? What’s the deal here?”

Nate Bihldorff: “It definitely still exists, I can confirm it,” Bihldorff replied.

Bill Trinen: “I will even go one further and say not only does it exist, but it’s progressing well. We like to show things whenever we’re ready to show them, and certainly we like to show things when the developer’s ready to show them. So we didn’t have it at E3, but stay tuned.”

  1. It’s been going so well for so long now that it hasn’t appeared since it was confirmed back in 2017.
Maybe in 6 months time it’ll still be progressing well and so on.

  2. as the saying goes, “talk is cheap”… so either show some screenshots or footage or shut the fuck up about it. For all we know Nintendo is lying to us the same way Miyamoto lied to us about Pikmin 4 for so long.

    1. Idiots like you still claim Miyamoto lied about Pikmin 4. PIKMIN 4 WAS NEVER MENTIONED BY MIYAMOTO NOR WAS IT EVER ANNOUNCED. THIS IS ALL SOME FANBOY INTERNET MYTH!!!

      1. I’ve long assumed that even if he did mention a Pikmin 4, he was actually talking about Hey! Pikmin which is technically Pikmin 4 as it’s the fourth game made in the series. If not that, there is also the translation error prospect since those are still a thing even today.

  3. Funny last post on bayonetta a guy was like” nintendo is the one that posted this they made the decision when they posted bayonetta 3s trailor. Platinum doesnt.”

This just confirmed what i said.. They cant show something if platinum didnt give them footage if they werent ready. So no it wasnt only nintendos call even if they are funding it…

That’s not what I said at all and you know it.
I said Nintendo were the ones to announce it and that Kamiya was being blamed for something that he didn’t do. Whether or not they have footage to show is irrelevant.

Please read properly before putting words in my mouth.

      1. “Nintendo are the ones making this happen, they are FUNDING the project so they have full say on how things go down.”

“Uhm… I hate to break it to you but Ninty was the ones that announced the game, don’t blame Kamiya for something that he didn’t do.”

Those are your comments mr.james …
You did indeed say it… Lets not play coy…

Those are my words for sure but you’re taking them out of context not to mention omitting a lot of the other things I said in that comment. I believe this is called “Confirmation Bias”.
You’re claiming that Bill Trinen saying that Nintendo is waiting on Platinum Games automatically means that Kamiya was to blame for Bayonetta 3’s announcement. Yes of course Platinum Games are the ones to provide the footage for the trailer, they are the developers! Such a thing should be common sense. If Nintendo were to tell Platinum Games to make a trailer showing off the game, they would have to as it’s them making it happen.
You’re basically taking 1 situation, this being the development of the game, and apply it to a different area, namely the games announcement. Nintendo were the ones that announced the game at The Game Awards. The point I was making was that in the context of the games announcement, Nintendo were the ones that made the call, not Kamiya or Platinum Games, just because Bill and Nate says they are waiting on more development doesn’t automatically mean it was Kamiya’s fault.

          1. Reply got canceled out but ill give it another go:

Dont talk to me about context when you are the one that. Directly replied to me, i never blamed him entirely or blamed him at all all i said was that he and nintendo have involvement that was all i said.
            you said what you said..
“Uhm… I hate to break it to you but Ninty was the ones that announced the game, don’t blame Kamiya for something that he didn’t do.”

“Nintendo are the ones making this happen, they are FUNDING the project so they have full say on how things go down.”
This just proved ninteondo and platinum are both involved as ive said…

Nintendo cant make platinum show a game they dont have or arent ready to show

You said what you said it was clear, both parties had a part in it it wasnt only nintendos decision as just confirmed

            1. Well for one, it was you that replied to me originally, it’s just rather than reply directly to me on that page you decided to come onto this page and be passive aggressive instead so really you’re the 1 that replied initially.

Also, what the heck do you mean “i never blamed him entirely or blamed him at all all i said was that he and nintendo have involvement that was all i said”?
You literally said “They fould have told nintendo they werent ready”, in other words you said Kamiya and Co should have stopped Ninty from announcing it even though it’s Nintendo’s call to make as proven by the announcement at The Game Awards.

Bill Trinen’s comment doesn’t prove what you’re saying, all he says is that they will show the game when the developers have something that’s ready. They are not showing the game because “Platinum Games/Nintendo/Both Parties have control” they are not showing the game because Ninty is aware the development is still underway.
My point still stands; Bayonetta 3’s “too early” announcement was not the fault of Kamiya and Platinum Games, that’s all on Nintendo.

Last note; Can you work on your grammar? This was hard to properly understand, you’ve been on this site for a good while now so I think it’s a bit overdue.

              1. Correction, my first reply was to the user “meat” you tried to cut out parts of my reply to use them as points in your first comment… Some word for word and clearly referencing my comment.

I replies to your comment that was directed at me from a discussion between me and them.

Also you left out the rest of my quote that you omitted saying nintendo wasnt the only one involved i said platinum had a part in it too… Thats not me putting all the blame on them, i brought up nintendo too. Its not all nintendo as you like to believe its both as ive said multiple times…. They both showed it off too early….And the speculation was justified.

Final note: yeah i know my grammar is bad atm im typing on a small phone screen and the comment menu refreshing canceled out my reply multiple times, forcing me to retype it…. Grammar was the last thing i cared about having to retype everything that many times.. Lets not act like a grammar nazi 😒

                Bill litterally said
“and certainly we like to show things when the developer’s ready to show them. So we didn’t have it at E3, but stay tuned.”

Alone proves what i said. Your reading skills is apparently just as bad as my grammar ….
Platinum has a part in what they show… Both parties shown it way too early….

                1. +ladyrosalina
I wasn’t talking about this page, I was referring to the first reply on the previous page which you made to me. What part of “you decided to come onto this page” wasn’t clear enough? The whole “reply to meat” has nothing to do with what I was saying.

And yes, I am aware you are blaming both parties which is what I disagree with, as I’ve said this entire time the blame for the game’s announcement is on Nintendo, not Kamiya and Platinum Games.

I don’t mean to come off as a grammar nazi, believe me I see a lot of typos but can easily deduce but reading yours is genuinely difficult to properly understand. I didn’t say it because I’m a “grammar nazi”, I said it because I genuinely struggled to understand what you were saying.

Anyway, this is going nowhere as I’ve already wasted too much time here, You can leave a reply if you want but for me, this is where I bow out, later.

  4. So far we have the developers saying it’s Nintendo’s decision and Nintendo saying we consult the developers. Still sounds like Nintendo’s decision to me.

  5. Bayonetta 3 was first announced in 2017, and it has been eagerly anticipated by fans ever since. The game is being developed by PlatinumGames, the same studio that developed the first two Bayonetta games. It will be a third-person action game, and it will feature Bayonetta as she battles against a new enemy.
