Capcom looking for licensing partners for Mega Man’s 35th Anniversary in 2022

It’s hard to believe but the iconic Mega Man series is fast approaching it’s 35th anniversary next year. The company clearly has plans to celebrate this special event as Capcom Japan is currently recruiting licensing partners for Mega Man’s 35th anniversary. Mega Man fansite Rockman Corner says that the same thing happened back in 2016 for Mega Man X’s 25th anniversary and also 2020 for Mega Man Battle Network’s 20th (those plans were delayed indefinitely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic). Here’s what the official Mega Man licensing page says:

“2022 marks the 35th anniversary of Mega Man series. We are looking for licensees who would like to celebrate it by creating special products and events.”

  1. Mega man 12 would be such a welcome game for the 35th anniversary.
I think mega man 11 was such brilliant tight platforming. Just needed to be longer.

  2. I really hope that one day, they can do Mega Man Legends 3, and do like a legacy collection for the gameboy games! Mega Man 12 would be nice, X9 would be nice, and so would a sequel to ZX Advent!
