Rockstar confirms they are working to “update the overall performance” for GTA Trilogy

grand theft auto the trilogy the definitive edition

Rockstar Games has confirmed they they are inevitably working on updates for the disappointing Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy. The infamous ports were handled by gaming studio Grove Street Games and have seen the huge user base in uproar about the games performance, even on newer video gaming systems such as the powerful Xbox Series X|S consoles and PlayStation 5. Sadly the Switch version has been hit even harder. While the tweet below specifically mentions the PC version through the Rockstar Games Launcher, the company does admit that they are working to improve the overall performance of the games on all platforms.

  1. It would be nice if they fix the issues before they release the physical versions. So that the physical releases will already be fixed without the need of a download patch etc. I’m willing to wait a while longer for that.

  2. Guys i stopped buying games at launch because more often than not they’re are half baked incomplete messes.

I’d rather play them after one year when they’re are fixed and the DLC is all ready to be played. Sometimes I’m even luckier if they are on sale.

  3. This just shows Rockstar didnt do nothing when GTAV debuted on Xbox 360 and PS3. They just sat there porting that same game generation after generation and lacked experience how to make games. Had they worked on GTA VI and GTA VII right after GTA V was completed 15 years ago, then this other games wouldnt had been broken. It never made sense why game developers make one game and then after ward’s dont do nothing for 15 years or more. Then forget how to make games with good quality.

  4. I think they will be more open to it because of the massive backlash. Or you have to get the right person on the line. Friend of mine accidentally bought Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD (the crappy Monkey Ball on Switch) instead of Banana Mania (the more recent and better Monkey Ball game on Switch) because the game logos/splash art/whatever looked the same, then when she realized she got the wrong one called Nintendo and asked for a refund so she could get the correct one. Guy told her she’s not the first person to make this mistake and helped her out, got it straightened out in minutes. So, refunds not as impossible as believed?
