However, it has been revealed that Pokemon Bank on Nintendo 3DS will only be available for free to those who have downloaded it before the Nintendo 3DS eShop discontinuation happens in March next year.

  1. Hope this means I can soon transfer shield pokemon to Arceus legends. I have a Golduck, Abomasnow, Flareon, Raichu, Bronzong and Gyarados.

      1. The emphasis of the game is on the pokedex.

You earn money for catching pokemon, but how much money that is depends on your rank, your rank is determined by pokedex completion, but the pokedex in Legends doesn’t simply want you to catch one, it has a whole wide assortment of tasks with different milestones. See it use X move, Catch it without it noticing you, do that 1 time, 3 times, 5 times, etc. Ranking up also determines when you get access to better pokeballs, and how high level a pokemon will obey you, so finding new pokemon and completing their pokedex entries is the primary gameplay focus.

In terms of the main story, each area has a main quest that typically results in you fighting a boss pokemon that is kinda sorta being mind controlled into being bad. You have to traverse the area to get to them, which is generally more threatening than in traditional pokemon games, and then fight them, which is a hybrid of an action game where you the trainer physically dodge getting hit by moves, inbetween actually using your pokemon to set up damage.
