Pillars of Eternity 2 on Nintendo Switch has been canceled

Versus Evil, the developers behind Pillars of Eternity 2, has shared some bad news regarding the Nintendo Switch port of Pillars of Eternity 2. In a notice on Versus Evil Discord chatroom one of the developers stated that the company will no longer be working on the project, though they didn’t disclose why. This comes after news last year that the team had stopped working on updates for the Nintendo Switch version of the first game, Pillars of Eternity, which they specifically blamed on the Nintendo Switch hardware.

“Hey there! Unfortunately, after much deliberation, we have decided not to move forward with Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire for the Nintendo Switch.”

  1. Imagine blaming nintendo on porting a game because of their hardware when in reality its their lackluster abilities. Imagine

  2. I’ve got PoE 2 on PlayStation, im not surprised it’s not getting ported. It’s a buggy mess, between freezing and crashing or infinite load screens. I’ve read how players get corrupt save files after X amout of hours, not sure how PoE 2 not getting ported is bad news. They dev’s didn’t support it on PlayStation or not much, they hardly fixed anything. Their no longer working on the project, i didn’t know they ever started.
