Gaming classic Zelda: Ocarina of Time enters Video Games Hall of Fame

The classic Nintendo 64 game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which was produced by the legendary video game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, has recently been inducted in the Video Games Hall of Fame at The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, USA. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time joins other classic video games such as Pong, DOOM, Dance Dance Revolution and Grand Theft Auto III. The museum hasn’t been open for long (it opened in 2015) but a number of games have been inducted in the Video Games Hall of Fame. If you live near the museum it sounds as though it is well worth a visit as it has a number of interactive exhibits to play around with. One notable exception from The Strong National Museum of Play Video Games Hall of Fame seems to be another classic Nintendo 64 game produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario 64, but hey, there’s plenty of time for it to be added. You can read more about the gaming museum here.

  1. It really took them this long to enter Ocarina of Time? It’s literally one of the most iconic and influential 3D adventure games of all time.

  2. Not surprised, i mean Rick and Scott Steiner the Steiner Brothers just got inducteed into the WWE HALL OF FAME on April 2022.

The Dog Face Gremlin and BiG Poppa Pump

2 time WWF tag team champions
2 time IWGP tag team champions
7 time WCW tag team champions
1 time WCW United States tag team champions

  3. I’m pretty familiar with that particular museum. The reasons for why OoT is just getting in in 2022 are…

The VG Hall of Fame isn’t that old
They only induct a few games each year
They try to space out the super iconic games so that (A) slightly less ultra-famous games get a chance and (B) people don’t lose interest after years when all the truly iconic games are already in.
