Nothing would make me happier to see than a full remake of Persona 3, with all the best parts of FES and Portable combine and updated gameplay and graphics similar to that of Persona 5.
Alas, deep down I know Atlus are never going to go through with it, no matter how many fans ask.
Personally I would like a Persona 4 remake the most. Sure its seen a ton of rereleases and even had the deluxe treatment on the Vita/Steam with the Golden release. But its still an old enough game originally releasing on the PS2 10 years ago. Something about the cast of characters was so inviting and the way they tied the midnight channel with the TV world and unraveling the mystery of the killer was all done so well. I would love to see how they would recreate such a classic with modern gameplay and visuals.
To those that question why Persona 4 should have the remastered treatment and not so much The Last Of US when the latter is only 1 year difference. The Last Of Us was released on the PS3 where Persona 4 was on the PS2. Additionally, The Last Of Us was a later PS3 release and was one of the better looking games on the platform. It almost looks like a PS4 game on the PS3. And speaking of the PS4 it had a remaster which upgraded the visuals. Persona 4 Golden by contrast added content, but the visuals and gameplay were the exact same. The only upgrade in this department was the wide screen aspect ratio and the HD upscaling.
So in conclusion, I still don’t understand why The Last Of Us needed a remake when it already looks decent even by today’s standards and can play on the PS5. And Persona 4 on the other hand still looks and plays like a PS2 game even with the Golden Edition rereleases. Clearly Persona 4 could benefit much more from the remastered treatment giving the game a much needed visual and gameplay boost improving the overall experience utilizing today’s gaming technology. BTW, only bring up The Last Of Us because I know someone will likely make this comparison with the two games originally releasing so close together.
I’d want them to remake 1 and 2 since those are basically ignored by Atlus. They deserve love too.
