New Sonic Frontiers gameplay footage released

sonic in sonic frontiers coming 8th November

Gamescom may be over with, but for Sonic fans, there has been one more busy news day to look forward to. You see, the Sonic Frontiers demo that was publicly playable at Gamescom was not the only demo there. There was also a demo that the press themselves got exclusive access to, which included the desert island, now known as Ares Island, that we got to see in the recently released story trailer.

Today was the day that the embargo lifted on information related to this island, enabling players of the press demo to give hands-on impressions of the game, as well as screenshots. This also includes a series of video clips of Sonic Frontiers gameplay officially provided by SEGA that takes place on Ares Island. Sonic Paradise managed to upload a video containing all the gameplay clips that were released, so we’ve included the video for you down below.

  1. Why wasn’t this the first footage Sega would want to show off? Aside from the static cars, this looks very polished. I might even buy this game after watching some reviews. I’ve been ragging on this game pretty hard because every trailer and gameplay footage I’ve seen prior to this video made the game look beyond unfinished, like the game was barely past the beta stages of development. This is the first time the game looks almost finished. Hope they fix the stationary cars, beyond that I hope we see more footage of this version of the game because clearly this is a later build than the garbage version of the game they were showing us previously.

  2. I haven’t been really following this game much. But it feels interesting from this trailer. But what was super weird was there was no music, just sound effects. And the sound effects weren’t great so it made it feel much more cheap. I wonder if they’ll adjust that. I probably won’t get it unless reviews come out showings it’s better then it feels.

    1. The lack of music makes these gameplay footages very dull and boring imo. People are saying the gameplay looks very polished, but the “silence” is so deafening that I can’t even focus on it.
