Those of you who have yet to purchase the entertaining LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga may want to hold off purchasing the game until November. Warner Bros Games has announced that they will be releasing LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition on 1st November. The Galactic Edition contains thirteen downloadable content packs along with six brand-new character packs. Sadly, it seems as though those of you who bought the current edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga won’t get a free update with the content which is included in the Galactic Edition.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – Galactic Edition coming 1st November

Kinda lame if you purchased the standard edition it doesn’t get a free update, do they mean it won’t get updated so even if the additional content from the Galactic Edition becomes available as a stand alone purchase it won’t be compatible with the standard edition. If the standard edition gets updated so the dlc is compatible then i’d assume it’ll become available as a stand alone purchase for those who purchased the standard edition.
I didn’t expect an update that added free additional content, maybe an update so the dlc is compatible with the standard edition and then sell the dlc separately.
Dude… It’s literally just DLC, the “galactic edition” is just another “ultimate bundle” of course the standard edition is compatible.
Why would they not let you buy the packs separately? They clearly want money, of course they’re available individually
Because it literally says in the last part of the paragraph of this article “those who purchased the current edition of Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga won’t get a free update with the content included with the Galactic edition”
It says if you purchased the standard edition you won’t get an update, if you don’t get an update then the dlc wouldn’t be compatible with the standard edition.
That literally means “The DLC won’t be free for Standard Edition owners” of course characters won’t be free, they’re DLC.
Every game gets “the update” just not “the DLC” meaning you need to buy it to play as them
I thought “maybe” it means the additional content from the Galactic edition was exclusive content only available for the Galactic edition.
Just to clear things up.
This ‘new’ edition. is $80. it’s not $60 with all the existing & new dlc thrown in. it’s just a bundled version of the game with all the old dlc & new dlc. Which is sold separately.
So there’s no ‘free’ update because the content isn’t free. ‘The galactic edition’ just saves you $5 if you want all the content.
Both the old & new DLC are available separately if you bought the base game. it’s $25 for collection 1 (old dlc) and collection 2 (new dlc). it’s $15 for just collection 2, or $3 each for individual packs.
Basically, this is the “gold edition” but they said galactic to keep with the space theme of Star Wars. You know. “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.”
