Streets of Rage movie in the works from Lionsgate and SEGA

The hit 90s side-scrolling beat ’em Streets of Rage will be getting the movie treatment with Lionsgate and SEGA working on the adaptation. Deadline reports that the film is being spearheaded by John Wick franchise creator and writer, Derek Kolstad. Brady Fujikawa and Jon Humphrey will head the project for Lionsgate and Shuji Utsumi and Nakahara are overseeing the Streets of Rage movie project on SEGA’s part.

  1. This will only be good if they set it an era that feels like a late 80s/early 90s setting and gives it some grit as well as a bit of tone from similar action fighting films of that era.
