Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos releasing in summer 2023

It might be hard to believe, but Harvest Moon has been a thing for 25 years. Although the licensing of the name is still rather complicated in recent years, which has resulted in Story of Seasons becoming a thing, that doesn’t mean that the franchise as a whole is dead. New games have still been releasing frequently.

In fact, Natsume Inc. has announced a new Harvest Moon game earlier today. The game is called Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. There isn’t any information on what platforms it will be on, including the Nintendo Switch, but they did say that the game will be launching in summer of 2023. Their announcement tweet can be seen down below.

      1. Basically what happened is that Natsume was the localization company while Marvelous was the developer, and sometime during the 3DS era Marvelous decided to use their in house development team thus ending their partnership, but Marvelous had to change the name of the series because Natsume owned the localized name. These newer Harvest Moon titles are quite literally Harvest Moon in name only, and I find it gross that they pretend this is the franchise we’ve been familiar with for 25 years.

  1. The fake HM games may have been a bit lacking, but all of the SOS games have been pure rubbish. So I’ll gladly take this fake over the original

  2. The most passable from Natsume were the 3DS ones (LV and Skytree), anything after that was way below average.

IP name aside i always welcome good farming games but they have yet to deliver….
