It seems SEGA is planning another Olympic-themed game possibly with Sonic

SEGA has published a new Japanese job listing for a title which will seemingly tie into The Olympic Games, the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and will also feature an online multiplayer mode. SEGA previously developed the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: The Official Video Game which ended up taking place in 2021 as The Olympic Games were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Job applicants will need plenty of “experience with Unreal Engine 4” and “experience in action game development” along with “experience in network game (P2P online battle, etc.) also “production with knowledge working with: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows.”

  1. Doesn’t this just means we’re essentially getting another Mario & Sonic Olympic game the last one was 2020 and we get one like every 3 or 4 years, and the 2020 title release early in like 2019, it’s definitely due for another go around.

  2. Last Mario-Sonic Olympics came out in 2019. This shows they immediately worked on the next one yet where is Mother 4, Metroid 4, Pikmin 4, Luigi’s Mansion 4 , Toad’s Treasure Tracker 2 Tropical Freeze 2 & Astral Chain 2? Why they keep immediately making crap people don’t care about but take forever to release Mario Kart 9?

  3. It should be noted that there has been 3 Olympics-based mobile games featuring only the Sonic characters. For all we know this could be another new one, except now its presumably coming to consoles and PC.

  4. Am I the only one who wants to see a Toejam and Earl Olympics game?? Yes, I am. But the same amount of people want to see a Sonic game set in the Olympics. 1person.
