UK charts: Hogwarts Legacy remains undefeated at No.1 and has now outsold Elden Ring

The latest UK boxed games charts have arrived a little later than usual and Hogwarts Legacy has now outsold Elden Ring which sold a massive amount of copies last year and is likely to do so again once the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion arrives. Hogwarts Legacy will also be arriving on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch towards the summer, so it is bound to have plenty of legs. In other gaming news the excellent Metroid Prime Remastered has disappointedly dropped from No.2 to No.4 with a hefty 79% fall in sales week-on-week, though it should be noted that Nintendo doesn’t generally reveal Nintendo eShop data. Here is the GfK UK Boxed Top Ten for the week ending 11th March, 2023:

  1. Metroid Prime fell because Nintendo was too stupid to print enough physical copies for people who buy physical or just wanted one for their collection for preservation.
This time I can’t even blame scalpers for how few copies were out there because the Mario anniversary collection was suppose to be a limited print on purpose yet I can still find physical copies of that game easily, but for some dumb reason Nintendo thought it was a great idea to print fewer copies of Metroid Prime Remastered (which isn’t meant to be a limited print) than the game that was suppose to be limited physical print.
For all the idiots saying “just buy digital” how about no, I don’t support digital because you don’t own a digital copy and in the near future when Nintendo does decide to shut down the eshop for the switch (which will definitely happen during their next console cycle in the same way the wii, wiiu, and 3ds eshops) you won’t be able to buy or re-download your digital copies and if anything happens to you systems then you game is gone forever.

    1. Nintendo essentially pulled a SEGA Saturn with the announcement by saying “it’s available now!” and didn’t provide enough time for physical copies to be well stocked on the shelves. It’s becoming quite obnoxious because I’m a one game at a time type of person, and Nintendo doesn’t really leave a whole lot of time to plan with stuff like this.

  2. Sickr.
We want to know if you want to be interviewed for our ED project.
The road to the 10th anniversary is a few days away!

  3. Hogwarts Legacy has now outside Eldin Ring, Hogwarts Legacy soundtrack needs a new song. Ever heard Triple H’s theme song “All hail to the king” .. Eldin Ring has been dethroned.

    1. Sickr should probably moderate these comments a little better.

Transphobia and antisemitism are still wrong even if they’re popular. Hope this helps!

      1. You’re right. These ARE wrong. Thankfully, it’s Harry Potter that’s popular, not those mentalities. Even if those ideals were believed by Rowling, she’s kept it out of the books’ universe. Before someone says goblins are jews, if someone’s first thought when seeing goblins in HP is jewish people & not, well, goblins, I honestly question their own bias. I see nothing wrong with taking negative descriptions & using them to represent an actual monster. It’s better than using them to negatively represent the innocent people they were used to demonize. This “if you buy Harry Potter, you’re a bad person” crap is stupid. Just as stupid as it was to say Mortal Kombat is gonna turn people into killers back in the 90s. Or, something in more recent years, that Joker is gonna incite incels to go on movie theater shooting sprees.

I see nothing wrong with taking negative descriptions & using them to represent a fictional species. Just as stupid as it was to say Mortal Kombat is gonna turn people into killers. Or, to mention something from more recent years, screeching online that Joker is gonna inspire incels to shoot up theaters all because one idiot that one time dressed up as the Joker.

As a negative to Rowling, though, maybe putting so many negative connotations into one single creature wasn’t the best idea. Personally, I’d give greed over to leprechauns, not goblins, seeing how I grew up loving Warwick Davis as a leprechaun.

        1. Sickr should *definitely* moderate these comments a little better.

You don’t seem to understand the problem with antisemitic tropes, or the real world harm that JKR is doing to trans people (and the rest of whatever you said doesn’t have anything to do with anything, seems like you’re venting anger at another conversation you were having somewhere else). Have fun, I’ll not be using this website for information anymore, got tired of these weird GamerGater-type comments a while ago and the site runners don’t seem to give a shit

          1. shrug At the end of the day, I don’t really care. I got my own problems to deal with. I can barely save myself, much less the world. So I’ll enjoy the fiction I want to watch or play to keep me from dealing with my own inner demons. If you want to save other people, go ahead. I just hope your methods don’t cause more harm than good. Because demonizing innocent people who just want to play a stupid video game isn’t helping anyone.
